Vehicles deleting while being flown

This is a weird one. I was flying in Fame, circling around, when my vehicle deleted itself. It's not programmed to do that... there's not a single llDie in any script. It just disappeared with particle puff of smoke.

Obviously, this isn't supposed to happen. I assume that either the system incorrectly deleted the object or someone deleted my vehicle deliberately. Has anyone else seen this?
