768kbps for streaming music in 1.4 pre? That can't be right.

The notice I get when it asks if I want to stream music, is that it requires an additional 768kbps of overhead?

What on earth are you guys using to stream if it requires 768k? Is it raw PCM? 22050x2x16bit would be 768kbps, but even MP3 maxes out at 360kbps -- hell, you could do a pristine MP2 stream at 224kbps.

What's up with that?

Nevermind. 768kbps aggregate, not 768kbps overhead. Sorry.

Also, SL doesn't stream a thing here - those streams are from 3rd party providers. All the SL servers do is send your client the URL of the stream. Your client then plays it back. It's just the same as if going to some website and clicking on a shoutcast URL that starts winamp - just more comfortable :)
