She has an item "MDC Ring" and somehow made it so her map constantly opens, she can only function in one location, as soon as she strays the map pops up, and if she closes it it just pops up again.
She tried clearing the cache, relogging, unequipping, different client. Nothing makes it go away, she's afraid she'll have to scrap her account, but I know it has to be fixable, anyone have any idea? Need any more info just ask.

Did the "unequipping" involve right clicking her avatar, selecting Take Off, and doing Detach All?
I believe that's the proper approach.
Oh @#@#@ I just made my hair go away following the above steps.
Can you tell us the location?

I just asked her, and yes, she detached all.
*EDIT*
She just informed me that it only happens when she goes into a specific sim

What is the purpose of the "MDC Ring"? If it's not important (which I find hard to believe it would be) tell her to detach it and delete it....then purge it from the trash to get rid of it for good.

You say she has an item. You mean it belongs to her?
Does it say anything?
I have a feeling you might want to try SLProxy.
You should be able to find the object with a scanner set to find only things with that name.
If you tell us where the problem item is, so far as you can tell, people might go hunt it down.
Of course if she get's Live Chat help she should ask the Lindens to help.

That was her reply.

she lost 500 lindens then
or she can live with it.
A griefer tool? She attached it?
Why would someone do that unless they were looking to grief?

She's almost positive it won't fix it by deleting it, and she doesn't want to lose her money. Isn't there other people who have experienced this item?

Maybe........but I bet they wouldn't post it in the forums. Griefer tools and griefers are sort of looked down on here.
Sorry, I have no sympathy.
Tell "her" to delete it and learn from her experience.......otherwise live with it
My only advice.

Nah, MDC Ring is like a sort of multitool
If it only happens in a certain region, someone else has a script spamming her. Unfortunately the design of that particular feature is awwwful and even slproxy can't help you identify the source. I'd say get Linden assistance!

Well, the problem fixed itself. she unknowingly rezed an item somewhere that was causing it, and it returned to her inventory.
By the way, she isn't a griefer, she bought the item for other abilities that were on it, she was only playing with the griefing parts to see what they did.
