Hope I can get some help on this.
For the last 4 viewer releases, and even this latest RC client, whenever I logon after clearing the cache, I get the normal gray screen for a split second, then it's all frozen. My avatar won't move, things stop loading, and I realize my internet is dead.. all websites and internet messengers close nearly instantly. Only resetting my router and cable modem will bring it back.
Why does this keep happening and what can I do? So far tonight I have logged into a mainland sim 8 times, only to have my internet die in 2 seconds, and have to wait 5 min for the router and modem to come back - so I can try again and die.
Please please help!

If your internet connection is breaking I would contact my ISP. Rebooting your router and modem are things that need to be done on occassion.......but not everytime you log into some graphics intensive online program like SL.
I had an issue about 6 months ago with having to reboot my router about every other day..........replaced both the router and the modem and haven't had that problem since.

Thanks for your answer Peggy. It's so strange because this only happens after I clear cache. No other logins are affected. I will check with Comcast however, but I am pretty sure this modem is only a year or so old.

Clearing the cache forces your viewer to download every thing............including the textures you have already downloaded and viewed in the past. That makes for an avalance of data coming through the pipeline to your computer..........and if your modem or router are on the edge keeping up then sometimes they just shut off the connection. It's worth a shot at calling your ISP. But, I bet you make a trip to Best Buy or Office Depot soon. Thankfully modems and routers are not expensive.
