Anyone else having this problem? When I try to get on SL with the mac beta, It gets as far as the terms of service agreement (it loads the game files, inventory, and clothing fine), and then stops. The program does not crash, and you can quit out to the intro screen, but the box that contains the TOS displays "Loading..." indefinitely. I can't wait to get on and play SL, so any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Milt
P.S. I am trying to run SL on a dual 1ghz G4 running 10.3.2

Are you seeing the Quite button at the bottom of the SL window at start up?
If not, change your screen resolution, if you are, hmmm don't know what the problem is.

This problem has been, in the past, caused by people trying to run SL on 56k connections. Past that, i'm afraid I don't have any suggestions.

Try chaning your settings in your prefrence, before trying to connect. Some time changing a few setting in render, and display fixes weird log in bugs.

Hehe, posted in Feb. There will be a Mac Mixer on Thursday at 6:00 pm Pacific Time - at Seacliff (230, 16 . As usual, the mixer is open to all SL residents and $1,000 L will be raffled off during the event. Any others still have serious difficulties with the Mac client?

You mean aside from not being able to use AGP Acceleration?
FPS is still abysmally slow vs the PC client. Hopefully more optimization is in our future.

Hi...I have never posted before. Hope I'm doing this right. I've been playing only a few days and SL has crashed three times for me. Also, when I try to alter my character's skin tone, things freeze up--I am unable to use the slide bars. Kind of frustrating, but this is the only place in which it happens. Anyone else? Just wondering. Do wish I had access to a PC to see the difference for myself!

What are the specs on your computer?
If you're using a slower computer it can take a few moments for the appearance window to catch up because it updates the thumbnails to match your current appearance.
What kind of crashes are you experiencing? Does the client crash, or is it a hard crash requiring you to reboot.
If you have an ATI card make sure you have AGP turned off in your prefs.

I have the same problem as the original post up there - the software freezes up at the TOS agreement. I have a 1.4 GHZ G4, OS 10.3.4, 768 MB of RAM, and a DSL connection (768k). From the terminal app, top reports the program using about 85% of cpu time while it's stuck on the TOS agreement. If you ask me, it's a bug in the software!

Oh - and I'm using the Mac Beta version. Also, it should be noted that there is not a way to "turn off AGP in your prefs" on a Mac running OSX.

From: someone Originally posted by Ech Luchador Oh - and I'm using the Mac Beta version. Also, it should be noted that there is not a way to "turn off AGP in your prefs" on a Mac running OSX. Sure there is. When you open Second Life, click the preferences button before you log in. All the settings are in there. AGP shouldn't be your problem logging in tho.
