PLEASE HELP! Can't log in due to update failing! :(

Anyone else having this problem? I click download and it seems to download but then I get a failed download message. So now I can't bypass this stupid update and I cannot log in to SL! Grrrr! Can anyone help me please? I have Vista and a Dell pc. Thanks.

Go here:

https://secure-web12.secondlife.com/my/support/downloads/?lang=en-US

and download the viewer of your choice....save to your hard drive (don't from the website).

Uninstall SL from your computer. Search your computer for anything related to SL after the uninstall and manually delete any found files and folders. Then install your freshly downloaded viewer and give SL another try.

How many times do I have to say this?

The problem is on Linden Lab's Servers, there is nothing we can do.

Well, you can say that till you are blue in the face.........with close to 70k logged in at any given time during any day of the week that simply is not true. Keep blaming LL's servers for your problem and you'll never get SL to work.

Pretty simple to figure out that if the whole world is upside down who's standing on their head.

With an attitude like this, I would be surprised if anybody would take the time to try and help. You should be thanking Peggy, not jumping all over her.

That said, if you are so sure it's a Linden server problem, how do you expect anyone here to be able to help? This is a user forum. The Lindens will probably never even see this.
