I have had numerous persistant perm-change problems (but not AFAIK the full perm ones), and now a new one that could be disastrous for me.

I sell tables that rez dinners. A couple who have used their table for months suddenly find that the steak dinners (but not the cheesecake) have gone no-copy and after being rezzed, they vanish from contents. So I send a box of steak dinners to drop in the table. In the customer's inventory, these are copy, but when he drops them in the table they, too, go no copy.

Also, the meals positions are messed up.

I give this table to my alt, and the table is fine.

I suggest a sim restart, which happens, I send a new table -- positions are okay now, steak dinners disappear.

Can the perms in the database be borked for one alt and not another?

Can LL actually go in and fix some perm borkage on objects in the database?

I am assuming this borkage is related to the latest rollout. So far no deluge of IMs about tables, but I am steeling myself.

Oh, if LL can't do anything, is renaming the meals enough to fix the database problem? Or do I have to redo do the whole thing? No clue how the database works.

Thanks very much for any help!

Edit -- Hadn't read your whole post before what I put below. Sounds even less likely if your alt doesn't see the problem.

Is the customer's table deeded to group, or on group-owned land with object create for group only? Probably not the issue, but maybe. There are odd things with rezzing objects in this case. None that would affect the position, though.

Is it at all possible that some of the rezzed objects were created by, or contain something created by, someone who copied content and whose objects were removed from the grid?

NOTE: I'm not accusing you of intentionally using stolen content. This problem has happened to a number of perfectly innocent people.

This is just a possibility, btw. What you report seems similar to the odd behavior I saw when someone's content was deleted some time ago, and I had vestiges of that av's content in my things. But I could be off on a completely wrong tangent here, too.

Check the "creator" field of the steak dinners object, and its contents.

Also, rez a steak dinner yourself and then take it, and then give it to an alt or friend and see what the permissions are. You seem to have a "permissions baking" issue, where permissions change after something rezzes. But, that normally wouldn't change all of a sudden for no apparent reason -- it would have been broken to begin with. Still, something's borked and this would be my first approach, after ruling out deleted content.
