I've been trying to use voice lately. It's been working in local. Then someone invited me into a voice conference. Now voice won't work at all, local or private chats.
I've disabled my firewall completely- took it right out, and put my computer in my router's DMZ, effectively eliminating both.
Anyone have any ideas?

*breathes deep into microphone while eating chips, forgetting it is on while her kids argue over whose turn it is to use the computer - all the while forgetting that Voice activated talk is on*

It couldn't hurt to turn off your entire system, if you haven't already done so. What version of SL viewer are you using? (version number, not words like "the latest"

Some hints (windows users): 1) check if Speakers and Microphone work outside SL 2) go to SL Preferences and ensure, that you selected the correct devices in the device settings for voice (usually you need to select the sound system rather than default) 3) in the device settings see if you mic is active by adjusting the slider in a way, that you get 2-3 green dots when speaking. 4) if above works but you cannot get through SL voice then your firewall(s) may block some ports. Remember there are some built-in firewalls in routers.
I will also give you a NC inworld.

If I wanted someone to reply without reading, I would have filed a ticket. It's not the hardware, voice was working in the local parcel. Which I said. Itls not the firewalls, I disabled both completely. Which I said. It was working, then it simply stopped working after I tried to join a voice conference.
