I have yet to figure out what's going on. So far I've tried this on Greenlife Emerald, regular viewer, and the RC viewer. When I log in SL, I get nothing from voice. It doesn't even tell me it's trying to connect. Only thing I get voice related is when I go to preferences and disable voice, then it tells me "Disconnected from in-world voice chat." I've checked my device settings before and after I log in. When I do it before, it gives me a volume meter to check my mic with. After I log in, it just says "Please wait..." on the bottom. I'm using Windows 7, the retail release, NOT the beta or anything like that. Any ideas?

Simply about the fact that if you actually want to talk to your sl friends, any random other voice chat solution is likely to perform better. And it doesnt make your sl crash, and if you crash on a failed teleport you still have skype to tell your friends what happened.

SL Voice not working

Dont know if this helps or not but talking about the slider thing for voice should be seeing 5 boxes so you can test your mic.
I have lost voice after upgrading viewer and had someone working on my pc thinking it was me . It is sl issue I think
If you get to log on screen dont try to connect then press edit preferences and go to voice you can see that you will get the lights saying your mic is working.
I think sl is not recognising my mic after update.
As for getting help hope you have better luck than me

Just cause you have a bad experience with voice doesn't mean anything. I agree with Skype. I used it back when voice wasn't around. It's more for convenience I guess. Granted I rarely use it. Just noticed it was screwed up when I tried to use it. It turned out that my mic was bad and that was causing it. The issue I have with it is the when people tell me that they use voice cause they don't feel like typing. THAT'S SOOO DAMN LAZY. xD |
