SL needs correct time and date?

I just reset my laptops harddrive to default settings, now when I try to run SL, it says to make sure your time and date are correct on the computer... Which they are. I live in Western Australia, no daylight savings, could this affect it?

Any help would be appreciated.

Ok
Seems like the server for time.windows.com was down for Western Australia, might be a temporary thing. I tried resyncing and it returned an error.
Control panels/date and time/ internet time tab/ drop menu choose another server and resync.
Should be ok if the prob hasnt gone away by then.

I have the same error, connecting from N. America. It was working fine earlier today.

I suspect it may have something to do with this:

From: Carmilla Vyper
I'd be willing to bet the problem is related to this;

Take a peek at the expiration date on that certificate.

I'm having the same issue on a number of viewers, including the default linden. I've tried to resync my time to all of the servers with no effect. I've also tried changing what time zone i'm in, for kicks.. no effect. East coast america.

How frustrating. Nothing has been changed in the 3.5 hours i've been offline.

The problem is certainly on the Linden side, most likely an expired certificate

What has changed is that LL's security certificate has expired at 7:05 PM:

"login.agni.lindenlab.com uses an invalid security certificate.

The certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate is not trusted.
The certificate expired on 11/7/2009 7:05 PM."

LL updated the certificate a couple of weeks ago, if you are having problems now then there probably really is something wrong with that computer's clock (see if the date and time are right but the year is off, that's a common one).
