COMPLETELY Black Log-In Screen?

I've played SL for about a year and a half now. During that time, I've had the client installed on three different computers (all running Windows XP) with no problems. The oldest computer, an ancient pathetic Compaq, is the one I'm having problems with now.

Here's a screenshot of exactly what I see when I open up SL.

When I try to type my username or password in, no text appears. There is obviously text in the little gray box on the screen, but I am unable to view it. This is strange because I've had SL installed on this computer and working fine before, but I recently completely wiped it and I can't remember what I had to do to make SL work the first time. My first thought (and what is probably wrong) is that I need to update the graphics driver. This old thing has a NVIDIA GeForce 4 MX Integrated GPU. So I went to the website and downloaded the latest driver for it.

Still nothing.

Any suggestions?

It's not a HUGE deal if I can't get SL to work on this computer (as it's obviously not my primary machine), but I'd love to be able to play from this location.

Thanks in advance for any help.

You might try the oldest Nicholaz client, a pre-windlight one.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm looking for the old Nicholaz client right now.

I should mention that before I posted this question I had also tried to use the OnRez client with no success.

Well, Nicholaz Edition BE-V didn't work either. I get exactly the same screen as I had with the original SL client. I appreciated the idea, though.
