Ok, may be a really silly question but a number of objects are appearing with a red/pink transparent colour to them. I've checked and my "highlight transparent" is switched off. Any suggestions as to what else could be causing it? I'm not very technical so if you could dumb down your answers please LOL

Try turning off beacons with ctrl-n. Also under the View menu as Beacons Always On (or something close to that).
