Just use the search button and then the tab "People". Type the name of the owner and you get the profile window where again is a button for IM.

You can also go to Help Island Public (look in your inventory, under Library -> Landmarks) and ask around there. The problems you're having probably aren't specific to the dress you have - changing clothes is a little tricky for new folks but it'll be easy once you've done it a few times.

Thanks, I believe you're right but it isn't my lack of knowledge. For some reason it would not let me take it off, and then all of a sudden it did. Now I can take it on and off. I wonder why that is. Lag???? A long lag, I might add.
