The resident log in page doesn't remember my name and password, even though I have checked "remember name and pw" on the log in page. Any suggestions? Thanks!

don't work for me either... I've heard a rumour it works if you use IE as your browser, but there's not a hope of me ever testing that ...

I'm using IE and it certainly doesn't work. And yes, I've got both the 'remember my name when I log in' checked and the 'keep me logged in' in the Control Panel checked as well.

I HATE how you have to log into this site and these forums every time you visit.

I use Mozilla and Mozilla Firebird as my default browser. They both offer a non-cookie method of storing usernames and passwords, so Im home free ;)

Yep same for me - I use Safari on the Mac and it's very annoying.

While you're at it, can you 'fix' the fact that the only way into the User Control Panel is through a tiny, easily missed pull down menu at the BOTTOM of most pages? Put a link SOMEWHERE at the top?

Ditto.

I use Mozilla which remembers name and password and types them in for me, but I'd rather have the checkbox, and the corresponding cookie it drops just work.

It never has as far as I know. Maybe it's a security issue, in which case they should take the checkbox off the page so I don't keep trying to get it to work :)

Yeah, I know, it's amazing, they've actually got a control panel in here! It's buried down at the bottom of the page in a drop menu. Lets you put in an avatar and signature 'n stuff. Took me three weeks to find it.

Since you reminded me...

I just tried to changed something in my control panel and that didn't work either.

Maybe the database is being backed up or something. It said tech support was notified. We'll see what happens.

i stay permanently logged in. I think the trick is you have to check 'Browse the forums using cookies' or it doesn't work.

I stay logged in on the forums, but the rest of the site never remembers me.
