I can't say for sure, as I have the 8800 GTS, but looking at the specs, it should perform adequately.

love my BFG 8800GTS OC2, the rest of the pc is now the bottleneck  if you can get it cheap, it will do great (don`t use latest drivers tho) |

Thanks.. The price of 8800GS dropped heavily in the past weeks, and it's still a very fast GC, and a lot cheaper than the bigger brothers. I might consider the new 9600GT though, slightly more expensive, similar speed, but new technology with lower power consumption. A little plus for the 8800GS could be that you can use older drivers if SL forces you to do that. Anyway, both cards are perfect for SL, you won't need to upgrade for years (unless you also use your PC for other special "cardkiller" tasks). |
