Hi Guys,

Been a little rushed lately, so before I go to the Public JIRA, I've got a question regarding the latest RC6 viewer...

"Are any of you guys finding that it is really slow compared to the Main 1.19x viewer?"

I'm running an AMD X4 9850 with an Nvidia 8800512GTS with 4G of ram and the 169.xx drivers and found that frame rates have dropped by half from 80 to 100, down to 25 - 40?

Any luck on your end? Torley seems to be running it on his video tips and on his system it looks like things are screaming :)

If you could let us know how things are running on your end, that would be swell ;)

Kindly,

DMC

I have noticed something similar. I am running an AMD dual core system (2.1 GHz 4400) along with 2 gigs of RAM and an 8800 GTS with 640MB and My framerate absolutely refuses to go over 35, while mostly hovering between 25 and 30. Before, using a much older card (6800 with 256MB) on the previous version could get me 60+ frames with similar settings. Something is definitely amiss here.

Looking at topics is amazing. But really, the 169.xx drivers are HORRIBLE for SL. If you can, use other drivers.

Yes, I was just remarking to someone last night how the RC6 stutters badly when I rotate around a scene, but 1.19 does not. They are both windlight, however I attributed the issue to the new Dazzle UI, it seems excessively slow when compared to the old UI. Just opening the map drops my framerate significantly.

However, your post raises some interesting possibilities. I do have an AMD processor, perhaps some of the issues can be attributed to that. I wouldn't know how to tell which is the source of the slowness, processor or UI?
