Windlight Problem

Of course the grid is again down so I'll be unable to test any methods suggested to fix my problems, but here goes anyway...
After a crash two nights ago I attempted to log back in and I received a message that an update was available and required in order to run SL Windlight. I downloaded the update and installed... Now whenever I attempt to login after I click connect on the new login screen SL will immediately close or give me the same message about needing an update. If i login using the regular SL I get a message that SL appears to have crashed during the previous session. I can login using the regular SL but not windlight. I've ran windlight on my computer for weeks with various updates and never had this problem. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling to see if that would fix the problem but it continues to do the same thing. I'm spoiled and don't wish to go back to the regular SL. Any thoughts on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

not sure what platform youre on, but try updating your graphics drivers. That fixes amny problems in here. Download them directly from the distributor (nvidia, ati, etc)

For what it's worth, I crashed a LOT until I disabled the following:

In Preferences: > Adv. Graphics (Graphics Tab in Windlight)

Uncheck the following:

Enable VBO [ ] Enable OpenGL Vertex Buffer Objects.

Not sure why, but I stopped crashing all the time when I disabled this (in the regular client AND Windlight).
