Crashing at clear cache

I was having a few problems with my sl, so I re-downloaded to see if that would work.
At first it was giving me errors while downloading but now when it has downloaded and I try open the file, once it hits the clear cache stage it crashes.

Any ideas?
Thankx

If you're on MacOS or Linux, delete ~/.secondlife and try again. If you're on Windows... good luck tracking the equivalent down.

Please keep the *nix cheerleading to the linux forum. Three Windows-bashing posts in just a few minutes is getting pretty close to trolling.

This isn't *nix cheerleading. I happen to know the answer. If it doesn't answer the question for your platform, well, you should have been more specific up front.

You'll want to delete the "Cache" folder in the SL Application Data folder.

SL hides the cache different places depending on the version of Windows and the version of SL you're using.

In XP:

C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\Second Life\

In Vista or it's in:

C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\SecondLife\

The Application Data and AppData folders are probably hidden, so you'll need to enable show hidden files and folders in the folder options control panel.

On the Mac, I'm pretty sure it's in Macintosh HD\Users\[username]\Library\Caches\SecondLife\

On OS X it's ~/Library/Caches/SecondLife or ~/Library/Application Support/SecondLife/cache.
