If you can't logon and you have been trying to logon to your "last location" then you should try changing your preferences to logon to your "home location" and try again.

If you can't teleport and you are wearing some attachments (or you *were* wearing attachments but they appear to be lost) then you should try logging out, logging in, and removing all attachments. Then try teleporting. If that works, then it should be safe to wear new attachments and teleport as usual.

These workarounds aren't gauranteed to work, but they are worth trying. We're working on fixing things.

Some of these problems are remnants from when the asset server was dying earlier this week. When you try to teleport with a lost attachment the teleport will never succeed until the corresponding asset (a file containing information about the objects you are wearing) arrives at your destination... but it can't because that asset was lost, so the teleport hangs. We expect to fix this next week.

"These workarounds aren't gauranteed to work, but they are worth trying. We're working on fixing things."

I tried to logon with both "last location" and "home" and I'm stuck at "contacting region". This has been going on for hours now. Any other suggestion?

Thanks.

Edited: Solved! I found both the login locations to be in the same sim. The sim was crashed. So I was suggested in "Live help" to login at the welcome area by entering in the web browser: secondlife://Ahern/1/1. Thanks, it worked. That was a very helpfull suggestion :)

Ok. This has gotten bad enough, and the problem has been occuring long enough that I vote this thread gets pinned at the top. LL hasn't fixed this problem in the... what... week it's been occuring? I know LL has a policy of no patches on Mondays or Fridays, but seeing as there isn't an announced patch coming today (Tuesday), I'm not seeing a fix coming soon. So this needs to get pinned.

I changed preference to "My Home" and still can not log in. My free trial is ticking away and so is my patience.

Also did not work for me. Im using a router and have set my ports to 12020 - 13050. I cut on tcp and udp. Also it's enabled.

Anyone know if that is the correct configuration for my router. I could not find any info on setting up a router for this game. Other than the ports that need to be opened.

Is the newbie region down ?

My roommate could not log in yesterday for the first time on their brand new account,

They got stuck at loading region. Tried the changing preferences to home but they do not have a home since they have never been in SL yet. Home did not work.

My av got the message my friend was online - but they were stuck at the logon screen.

I can see no other solution then that the New player section is on the fritz...
I created my account recently and I am not known for my patience...
Tested the "Workarounds" stated, no go still at the "Connecting to region"

Will give it a few days go, but If I cant login before trial end I am forced to cancel.
