I had started up second life and was viewing the events calendar and there was a link to take me to an event. I clicked on the link and thought I'd get a teleport ot the area but instead the link tried opening a second instance of second life which the first instance didn't like at all and shot it down immediately.

Hotlinks are just supposed to give you a beacon to the location.
Hotlinks are supposed to work with SL open. They don't. They only work when it's closed, at the moment.
