Are these the only SL forums? For 60,000 users they appear very quiet!

Just wondering..........
Now, I know only a tiny percentage of users actually ever read, are interested, or even know about these forums, but.............
given that we're being told, at peak times we are hitting 60,000 / 65,000 online users, these forums seen remakably quiet.

Factor out the bots and alts and the number of REAL people logged on probably drops .
There are several active 3rd party SL forums, SLUniverse is probably the biggest. It's the only other one I visit.

Piggie, you'll find the most activity in the Resident Answers forum.
Also, you might want to enable private messages in your forum user profile.

From: Lindal Kidd Piggie, you'll find the most activity in the Resident Answers forum.
Also, you might want to enable private messages in your forum user profile. Thanks, done that. To be honest, I never knew it was turned off my default. And thanks to others in response to my posting. I'm just used to another (unrelated) forum which normally buzzes with postings. I always VERY MUCH appreciate anyone who posts help or advice regards and on my queries.

Piggie - a good portion of that population is Bots, and yes, they are very quiet.
They won't even return my message, when I say.."Dang, you are looking hot and sexy, today!".....so I doubt that they contribute to any forums.

I have been wondering about the dwindling posts here also. My guess is there are several things stopping people from posting here.
First the link between here and our AVs, especially the global ban part could push people to lurker status for safety reasons. I certainly refrain from dropping questionable one liners for this reason.
Also(treads on thin ice) this forum is kinda cliquish. Not that it is a bad thing =) but it took me some time to build up the confidence to post and reply. I liken this to a stranger walking up and joining an ongoing conversation between obvious good friends. Some people are just much better/more confident about this than others.
Lastly, I do not think the vast majority of SLers know or care much about these forums. More using them as a reference than a place to socialize or ask questions directly. Perhaps with LLs new blog/forum/status page mess, more people will stumble across and see the forums as fun and useful.
me 2 cents

Once you reply to a thread you get a e-mail telling you that others have responded also - or you can just subscribe to certain threads. I also keep a SL Blog subscription to keep up on the current changes. There was much chatter in September as a direct result of many blog posts (death of adfarmers, mainland zoning, offline voice chat, etc.)
Once the Lindens throw us another curve ball the forums will heat up again.
