Uninstall vid card driver
restart
download one version older driver /or same
install
restart

Try SL then, never update vid card drivers without uninstalling, as SL is the most picky thing ever about this, one file thats "older" is enough to trigger this BS message :>

Alot of nvidia's seem to get this, its common.

Hi, Levaque, welcome to the forums. I don't have this card (yet), but I do know that it works well with SL.

Weirdly, you can also get this message when an OpenGL parameter is set to the wrong value.

Most graphics drivers have a little GUI that lets you change 3D and other parameters.
Did you change any of them? I got this message once when I accidently changed the OpenGL "Bit Buffer Bit Depth" (I think) to 16 instead of 24 (the default).

You dont have to change a thing to get this error, i had it with 6800,7600,7800,7900,8800 nvidia cards, all it took was a SL update, start SL, boom "out of date drivers",even tho i never even installed a new one.

go back 1 driver version usually make it work again.

Issue nvidia driver update problem...
02-18-2008 10:55
hi all !

My computer:
Intel QuadPro 4Ghz / 4GB DDR2 / 2 video card 8800GTX 769Mb.

My problem:
After an update forceware drivers, Second Life did not work. Messenger error:
Second life is unable to run because your video card drivers are out of date ... ...

After several hours of research, I found the problem.
My driver version forceware is 169.38.

The solution:

If the parameters EXTENSION LIMIT is at ON, Second Life does not work anymore.

I tried all settings 1 by 1.

We must go in the interface nvidia (right click on the desktop Windows Vista) and use this parameter: EXTENSION LIMIT = OFF.

Here, I post this message to help all the world, because it is not easy to find.

The rendering First Look is really beautiful!
