I am very new, like 4 days. I have two accounts so my son and I can play. We are on a LAN behind a cable modem (256/3000) and Linksys Router. When we both are logged in SL we get repeated "You have been logged out" messages and are essentially punted. This has been happening for the last 3 days (about all our experience) and is pretty annoying.
Can SL be played by multiple machines behind a router?
If yes, anyone know if I might have a config prob?
Thanks

Some other folks have had what sounds like similar issues with their Linksys routers. Check the other posts in the Technical Issues forum and see if they're useful.

Another thing that might help: emailing support@secondlife.com.

The answer seems to be yes, but not with a Linksys router.

Since the last patch the simulator MTBF has gone down and a few sims, such as Varney, are more problematic than most. We are in the process of putting up new binaries that address the issue.

If this problem continues for you, include your network connection information such as ISP, DSL/Cable, router make and model, and network card. We are trying to construct a table of connection scenarios that work and known workarounds when available.

Upgrade your Linksys firmware

Linksys has had problems in the past with connection sharing. Make sure you're running the latest Linksys firmware in your Linksys router.
