Is anyone using the Verizon Internet Security Suite?

If so, have you figured out how to set up the firewall so it doesn't block logging into Second Life.

If so, would you please tell me how you did it.

/me spies http://www2.verizon.net/micro/vissbusiness/pdf/VOL_UserGuide_firewall.pdf

In particular, the screenshot in section 4, Internet Access Rules, looks like what you want. If you can get there, click "Add Program..." and tell it to allow \Program Files\SecondLife\SecondLife.exe.

If you're using the RC, you'll want to add C:\Program Files\SecondLifeReleaseCandidate\SecondLifeReleaseCandidate.exe, too.

Thank you for your comment.

I have already granted access to Second Life. If I revoke access, and try to log in, a screen comes up asking me if I want to grant access, and if I say 'yes', I get on. The problem is, the next time I try to log on, I do not get a screen asking me to grant access, and the login fails.

I think the firewall is blocking access to some port, even though it has been told Secondlife is ok. The secondlife knowledge base describes what ports need to be open, but there are a lot of them, and opening ports on the Verizon Security Suite is a tedious business. Besides, I can't figure out how to tell it to grant access to those ports only to SecondLife and not to every other application that might try them.

Same issue here, Lee. Only thing I could do is turn it off.
