New Lag / Flashing (I call it Electrocuting)

The past 3 days, SL has been almost unplayable for me. I have no idea if I need to do something other than clear cache, which is normally everyone's first suggestion (tried that in the first moment of difficulties). I have uninstalled, re-installed, tried the updated game, tried Windlight, nothing. In fact, Windlight just gave me a game of all black/white textures and I couldn't see a darn thing, so it was uninstalled pretty darn quickly.

I log in, I render/rez as usual and then when I try to walk around, everything starts to stammer, my Av gets turned around and I have zero control of her. I basically call it "her getting electrocuted". It's a major struggle to get from one location to another.

I can carry on conversations - clothing changes take longer than normal - TPing is about the same time. It's the movement/walking/dancing/etc. that is causing me to have "electrocution fits" and in turn, giving me so much RL grief I want to scream.

I haven't changed any hardware in my system. The only "new thing" is that I added a fish tank beside my computer. At first, I think the motor of the aerator was making my monitor shake a bit on the far left, but I separated the two further apart and now the monitor isn't shaking/being affected.

My son has been playing World of Warcraft on my computer with no problems, so I can't pinpoint what else might be going wrong for SL to giving me problems. HELP!

its not you its them.

The serverside of the SL world is choked, over taxed and the upgrade to the database servers bugged. IT has been miserable for all of us for many weeks now.
