Everytime i log into SL on this comp all i see its bright colours and dots, i can not make out the buildings nothing its just all dots.
I have tried updating my video card and it doesn't work i also play other games like WoW etc and they all play fine SL is the only one i have problems with.
Can anyone help me please?

If you have the latest drivers, then the issue lies with SL. I used to have that very card in another system, which worked perfectly. I do not use it now, as I use that system for storage across my network and ftping files.
Not long ago, nVidia had the best drivers for the OpenGL platforms (SL), ATI lagged behind, or late, ATI have their stuff together and nVidia are lacking. As the pipelines to the SL client rendering engine are opened up which each new release, they bork current stable drivers. Try the Nicholaz Client, I've heard its very stable.
