Hi all.
This week i'm getting the strangest connection problems.

Whereas last week I've played this and other games fine I'm now finding for the past 2 or 3 days that I often lag up to 2 or even 3 seconds. All the utils say my connection is ok and calling my ISP suggests that their pings to my modem are fine.. so any ideas?!

It's driving me crazy! Getting just as bad on Savage which moves between pings of 60ms to local servers to 999!

Have you tried doing a traceroute to www.secondlife.com to see where the blockage is?

You might want to try WinMTR.

traceroute is fine. 222ms should be good. What's odd is also that as soon as SL is running all browsing slows to a crawl (minutes to load a page). This is not like it was last week!

looks like I have a virus! I think it was the Welchia one. This would explain my terrible connection as that virus eats bandwidth.

ahh but still no luck :(

I have to say I've been having these problems myself. Runs fine for a few min, then get hit by some kind of gamestopping lag for 5-10 sec.
Funny thing is I share the cableline with another via a switch and it seems to drag that system's connection down too. I've not done extensive testing, but I definately seems to only effect both systems when I'm running SL, and this has only been happening since the update to 1.1.
I'll have to try the traceroute thing and see what comes up, but meanwhile does anyone have any ideas why this is happening?
