Yeah... It's pretty straightforward of a question. I get crashes after about fifteen minutes on SL, and I have no exact idea why. This never happened a few months ago but after since I started coming around again (After getting this new graphics card) it's been crashing on me. I wasn't sure if this was related to a new version or... Something else wrong with my computer, but more than likely it's the card I use.
It's an AGP, see, a Radeon HD 3600, and I don't even know if the drivers are up to date since the ones on the AMD site don't work. I needed to search around google to find a 'hotfix' that lets me use the card. It's a bit of a mess really, and I can't tell if it's my computer not entirely accepting the card or if it's the drivers, or the fact that it's AGP...
Any words of wisdom you can offer would be appreciated, or an answer to the question.

SL is totally screwed right now. Pretty much everyone I know is complaining about the last F@ck up from linden labs in the form of the 1.23 update. Hopefully they are working on a fix.

I'll agree with what the person who posted before me said. I bought a new computer with all the required components and took it back because after 30 minutes, consistently, I was crashing. I now have a brand new computer with 8G RAM, 640G hard drive, etc etc and a 9800 (can't remember the letters after it) video card that all should be making SL run smoothly and it isn't. We even upgraded our DSL to super fast thinking it may be that. I also even added ports on the firewall that were recommended and that only seems to keep me on a bit longer, but again, this morning I was logged off after 23 minutes, so I think it's SL, not our cards or computers. I hope they fix the problems soon because it's very aggravating!

Same Problem Hope this helps

I ugraded to a HD Radeon 4830 card, or 4800 series, I had the very same issues and this is what i did and what happened, i went to the start window (mind you Im running windows vista 64 bit)and type in system configuration, clicked to open .., go to the boot tab , go to advanced options and then click the boxes that enable the processor and memory and apply, that helped a lot till the last few days when i could not even get the logon screen to stay up without sl crashing after its latest restart, i completly had to unistall the ATI catalyst center, and SL, go to www.ati.amd.com and go to drivers, it will ask you to put in your info, then it brings up the proper chopice, cept that 9.4 driver isnt compatable with SL ..and my computer anyways,.. so I scrolled to the bottom of the page where it has previous drivers and downloaded the catalyst 8.12/ Istall/ dl the sl viewer/ then restart.. so far its working good, Now Im reading about cool viewer and rainbow viewer that is also suppose to help with newer radeon card crashes, mind you.. no thanks to the tech support at SL. Try that and I hope it helps, i went through a lot of southern comfort and tylenol figuring that much out. Merry be to you all. I also defragged after each reboot, did a disk sweep, restarted my routers, and crossed my toes and eyes and fingers while holding my breath for 20 seconds too .. bit of humor there, but i think you know what im getting at, Good luck Taw

Hm, the problem I'm having with the 8.12 is that I... Well I can't find a way to install the 8.12, it was hard enough finding the 8.10 hotfix.
But I'll try that, I couldn't install 9.4 you see, I get an error trying to do that. And the AMD site no longer hosts the hotfix drivers.
