version 9.0 corrupt?

I downloaded the update and just before I was able to read the release notes by system completly shut down and rebooted. After rebooting my system my c:\programfiles\second life folder was completly empty. So I went to the site and have redownloaded all of version 9.0.

In my task bar I had a message that setup 9.0 was a corrupt file and that i needed to run a utility on my computer. Unfortunatly when I clicked on the task bar the utiility did not pop up and no utility was ran.

I have the icon back on by desktop which was previously missing when my system rebooted. I am not going to attempt to play the game

I will report again if there has been any further problems that I am not aware of at this time.

Ok I tried to run the game and the crash report popped up I tried to copy and past this text and a message popped up saying I may need to re install it. Also the message in my task bar popped up again:

newwiew.exe - Corrupt File
The file or directoy \Documen and setting\...aplication data\seconlife\user_setting\setting. ini is corrupt and unreadable please run the chkdsk utility.

ran chk disk all SL files were truncated. Second Life was completly wiped from my system including the second life folder. All that remained was the blank icon on my desk top. Attempting to do a complete uninstall (took 10sec.) and reinstall. (2nd time downloading the file)....

looks good program loaded see the new account icon looks good guys....

By the way I have windows XP with the AGP card and 512 ram if that helps and Pent. 4
