Shutdown image

When SL shutsdown it appears to save the last view as an image to disk someplace. This appears when you start SL again on the loading screen. I am sure it's account based and kept local. Has anyone any idea of the name of tis file and it's location. I presume it's in a viewable format.

I believe the image saved, and the one you see on loading, is the view that you were looking at when you last set that place as home. I come to this conclusion as the view opposite my home has changed and bears no relation to what I see on loading...which is how is used to look!

As for where it is stored, good question!

The image you're looking at is just a .bmp from your last location and is stored in:

C:\Documents and Settings\(yourusername)\Application Data\SecondLife\(yoursecondlifename)

So, for a gratuitous thrill, you're more than welcome to play with photoshop on the image for your next login (it will overwrite.)

Come to think of it, that would be a pretty good thread "real or fake last login screens"

C:\Documents and Settings\<your_name>\Application Data\SecondLife\<your_avatar_name>\

and the files are ...

screen_home.bmp
and
screen_last.bmp

Shouldn't you be patching SL Colin, so we can all get back in and play?

On the mac it's at ~/Library/Application Support/SecondLife/your second life username here/screen_last.bmp. Hope this helps someone.
