Heya,

Just making an other request for the mac SL client to be more mac like.. Could the SL client use native text fields? In the majority of apps (mail, safari, textedit, that kind of things) uses the same key shorcuts, ctrl-a to go back at the beginning of sentence, ctrl-e to the end, ctrl-p previous line, etc. Those shortcuts being modelled after the text input in a shell. It's also very easy to set up your own keybindings, so I have them setup so that, option-b goes back a word, option-f goes forward a word, option-d deletes the next word, etc, etc. Made these to follow the way emacs works. And again, these keybinding works in the majority of apps.

But they don't in SL..

Combined with the fact that I been using a dvorak keyboard layout for the past year, I'm pretty much crippled when it comes to talking in SL.

I wouldn't be surprised if this request would be impossible to implement in SL, but if you could consider it would be great.

I agree, although I've never heard of keybindings before. But I'd like to see real dialog boxes, and more Mac-like behavior in general. Little things, like using Command instead of Control, and not making letters lowercase when Caps lock is on and shift is down.

But in general, I'm just grateful that Linden has made a Mac version at all, and that it works. So if shortcuts like these enable them to continue development, I'll shut up :)

About keybindings

For Keybindings, you can see a good example of it here:

I haven't gone much deeper into it then that, but it really ends up making typing much easier.. once you get used to it.
