im havin an issue with my avatar...
first let me say that i am on dial up while i am waiting for my dsl
yes i know i shouldnt be able to access SL at all on dial up but hey i did its all good things i expected are ok with me for a few days.
my avatar remains invisble though, i was told its because i am on dial up, ok i accepted that. then i logged into my " closet account" keeper of extra clothing i call her, and she popped right up no problem la dee dah.
so if i can access my closet ava and she comes up no problem, what is up with my main ava? and how can i get her butt back in game?

From: Kumi Kuhr try changing Groups, it's an old bug nods i usually do that when i cant see anyone elses ava but thanks Kumi  i did try all the necessary tricks and nada, yes there are those "purists" who belive i have no buisness gettin on with dial up, however if i was to apply thier logic to my issue then i wouldnt see any avatars at all. i did ask live help it was beyond thier understanding. so if anyone else who has been there can help please let me know?

I'm actually having the same problem, yet changing groups doesn't help. Is there any other way that I can make myself visible again? I don't like not being seen. lol

New system, running Vista. Worked fine last night now all the avatars are missing. I can't see anything except prim items. Gods I hope I'm clothed!!

invisible avatar since upgrade

I have the same trouble. Since the upgrace my avitar is invisible except for custom hair, so all I see is my hair bobbing up and down as I walk. All others are invisible too. I tried rolling back to the pre-upgrade; that proved the problem was in the upgrade, but it wasn't a solution since its unstable and I'm booted off within seconds.
This happens on a Core2Duo, plenty of memory, with ATI Radeon 2400XT graphics. Maybe not the most powerful graphics, but resolution and frame rate are not issues, only this "invisible avitar" problem. Objects, backgrounds, clouds, fog etc all work fine.
Groups, location had no effect. Neither did any number of "clean installations" or clearing cache.

Edit / Grapics / performance (slider) / then a button for [hardware options] Filtering, Open GL setting, Distance ratio But not Hardware Skimming (??) Btw, groups doesnt affect this situation.
