If this is happening to you all the time, you may want to do an uninstall/install of the client. I used to have the biggest problem of nearly locking up during game play, which forced me to log out and back in all the time, but when we had to install ver .4.1, I took it off my system and installed the new version fresh, and this problem has gone away...I still get lag like everybody does, but I don't freeze up like I used to.
As for leaving it on overnight, that rarely works, as they back up the severs or whatever, so I don't even bother with that anymore (start begging for more hours like the rest of us..lol..)
So try that and see what happens...

I assume you are talking packet loss yes? I have two ways of hooking up the same computer to the internet - wireless and cat5. Both go to the same 2mbps cable internet. When I am connected to the cat5 I can select under network (in preferences) 500k, then custom, then double all the numbers there. I will still get 0% packet loss.
If, however I am on the wireless I must select a network setting of 200k or 300k at most just to get acceptable packet loss (less than 5% I believe). It is because of this that I hardly ever play over the wireless network.
To answer your question though (I think) - lower the network setting. For everyone: you will get the best results if you put this setting at the highest you can and still maintain 0% packet loss.

yes i am talking about packet loss the there are 2 bars one is always red and the other is not even lit up, i will try using 100 to 200 for network settings, because i dont have this lag problem running other games like the sims online or there, or dark age of camalot, i only get this problem in this game where it lags so badly, but i will try that, also if i del the game do i loose all my textures and stuff because i dont want to loose my textures or my characters

Everything is stored server side you won't lose anything by deleting the game.
This game pushes a LOT more information than any other MMOG, I think. I havn't played There so I can't comment on it. But everything is dynamically streamed, and with the exception of what you cache on your system everything has to be sent to you when you see it. This is one reason its good to set you cache to the max you have space for.

About setting your network settings...is it true the higher the setting, the less lag you get? I didn't think it didn't make much difference, except for the amount of time it takes for stuff to "fill in" when I sign on, or teleport somplace.
I have it set at the default of 300 kbps, and I have 0% packet loss (the left green bar never does anything.) Should I up my network settings until I see some packet loss for max performance? Or should I leave everything the way it is since I'm actually doing O.K. in-world at the moment?

This is a wireless router that iam on iam reciving signals from a wireless adapter. Yes ive noticed this game has a lot of information being sent back and forth, is there any way to optimize my wireless performance then, also would deleting the game and installing it again help? This seams to be a wireless connection problem and i hope theres an answer for this or else iam done for ô¿ô

Each of the various routers and modems between your computer and any other server on the network has a buffer in which it stores incoming packets that it doesn't have time to send. Most packet loss on the internet is caused by traffic filling up one of these buffers. When it gets full the incoming packets either cannot come through, or else old packets in the buffer are deleted to make room for incoming stuff.
I don't know what size buffer a wireless hub has, but it may be smaller than a typical cable/DSL modem. Alternatively, if the wireless hub tends to have bursty connectivity with your computer, then the bursty nature of the incoming data could phase with the connectivity causing buffer saturation and packet loss.
I recommend running cat5 to your computer if possible. Otherwise, turn down your bandwidth settings as low as possible, and bring your render-distance in to 64 meters.

I have the same problem. 3-4 weeks ago it was good. 0.5-3% loss. Now I sometimes get over 40%. I didn't chnage any settings, nor my ISP. Everything is the way it was, the only thing that is different is the client.
