Constant crashes on tp's

Sl has became unusable.
I crash almost every time I try to tp.
Tp's are slow and extremely unreliable.
Instead of saying I can't be teleported in a timely fashion, I just get logged out.
I think it's a crowded server issue which affects certain (newer) avis.
Regardless, SL is pointless like this, as I can't go anywhere.
Shopping is a nightmare.
This problem isn't entirely uncommon but Linden Labs don't seem interested in addressing it, or admitting it exists.

I'm pretty much ready to give up on SL (I've had this problem from day one and it's gotten worse) - I'm sure there are others in the same predicament who feel the same.
Still, can't have the likes of me taking up server space from myriads of camping alts.

I know that you probably have already done this and things are a little skidish in sl right now, have you cleared your cache and defraged your computer. Sometimes that helps.

I am freezing and being logged out at times now. Tp'ing is without a doubt a mess right now. Some times I try four or five times then just log out and back in at a different location. They are going to be doing some maintence on the 6th, I would definitely stick around and see what that breaks. "shoes stored up the bum again instead of in inventory"

May I suggest that you raise a ticket, I have this problem and LL don't accept that it happens. If everybody raise a ticket then we might get it fixed.

Hi, folks. Another reason why TP crashes have become more frequent is because scripted hair, boots and clothing have become more common, and there's a right way to script these things, and more than one wrong way. The wrong ways can not only crash you often (particularly when you TP) it can actually stall a whole sim when an avatar with such attachments TPs in!!

Information about how to do it right is percolating slowly through the user base, but meanwhile there are a lot of products out there that are laggy. It is very easy to see if this is your problem: take off ALL attachments and try TPing around.

Best luck!

Nika, that is the answer that LL want us to believe. In my case I have the problem even with just the default AV - no prims, hair, AO or huds. Normally I can TP with all my hair, AOs etc. I can run multiple sessions with several ALTs TPing. It is just that at some times I get logged out and I cannot TP at all even with no Hair huds etc. If I log on at the place I want to go, I have no groups and I can't upload or edit note cards or anything. The only ting to do is log off and wait several hours until what ever is wrong with SL is cleared. And yes I do clear my Cache and there is no noticeable difference in ping times to LindenLabs.com when there is an issue and when not.

Well, for many folks the scripted attachments issue IS the problem, you have to realize, that's why they keep repeating it. You are in a minority of folks in seeing consistent TP failures for a stripped-down avatar. But it seems to be a significantly sized minority; there are quite a few complaints like this.

I'm curious, what are your typical ping times? (from the statistics menu in SL (ctrl-shift-1), not to lindenlab.com). Also, do your packets have to traverse an ocean to reach LL's servers? [God, it seems to me they've been promising a Euro data center for years]. I never see this behavior myself, but then my home is only a hop skip and jump from LL's data centers.

And, just to cover all the common bases, I don't suppose you access LL over a shared network - a university or corporation network, for example? And I assume you've already tried this over a hard-wired local LAN (as opposed to wireless)?

ETA: ah, I see your thread on this. NVM replying here.
