Usually these are heat problems - SL drives your PC pretty hard and after a while it gets too hot and shuts itself off.

Have you given it a good cleaning lately?

edit: could also be a bad driver. What kind of video card do you have and which driver are you running? /me knows nothing about such things but somebody else here will, if you post your info. Just copy/paste what you see in SL if you do Help->About Second Life.

not enough RAM ? 1 gig , and half 512k going for the gpu and what 300k+ to windows if its xp? that's all the memory in use right there... or is it a mac?

and that 7300 le is most likely getting real hot. have you checked and blown out any dust? does the 7300LE have even a fan? (well some have a real chepo fan looks like it would break off and others have a nice heat sink) make sure those fins are real clean and you are getting good air FLOW across that card. if it has a fan make sure it is turning

Graphics cards tend to get very hot when under load. SL will put a load on any graphics card and CPU like almost no other program out there. Your computer shutting down, or restarting on it's own is probably about a serious a problem as you well ever get. It's not something to just blow off........not if you value your machine. There are, of course, others things that can cause a problem like that. But, your discription of the problem being that SL runs for 15 to 30 mins and then it happens is a huge indication of an overheating problem.........that is the major cause for almost any computer shutting down unexpectedly. No one here can tell you for sure that your computer or hardware (GPU and/or CPU specically) over heating but what has been said is true........you need to look into heating issues. A driver will not likely cause that problem.......it may crash your computer but it won't cause your computer to restart on it's own. Clean your computer and investigate whether or not your fans are working first........worry about the dirver later. Each time your computer shuts down like that there is a very good possibility that some hardware device has recieved damage. It also can corrupt your OS to the point of not being able to boot at all.

The 7300LE card is an okay card..........but I had a 6300LE once a long time ago. It runs hot. You need to make sure you have adequate airflow around it. A can of compressed air costs about $1.50 US. Cheap way to stay ahead of the dust that accumulates in every computer.
