This latest update has caused only a select few to be able to log in, the rest of us are crashing at some point in startup between just after double clicking the icon to almost completely loaded in.
The community is working hard on a manual bugfix, but with our limited knowledge about the inner mechanics of the program, we are limited ourselves.
Reinstalling does not work Registry tweaking does not work Editing/Deleting user files does not work Editing/Clearing Cache does not work
This is all I can confirm.
Please do not use this thread as a "halp plz this iz mah system specs" thread, this thread is for serious discussion of the issue and a community effort to solve it through trial and error.

I have the same problem. :/ I resolved it one time with changing something in appdata from .xml to .ini.old but now it stopped working too. I hate Second Life now. I ran it perfectly until one day just poof.

It might be helpful to know these things so the community can help those residents experiencing this problem by finding whatever common thread exists. In addition to the steps you've taken, systems with ATI graphics adapters have had similar problems with Catalyst A.I. enabled. You can disable it in the ATI Catalyst Control Center under 3D settings.
