I have a PCI graphics card.

There, I said it. (Yes, yes, I know I've committed a grave sin againt the principles of Gamers everywhere. It's the best I could afford. Let's not dwell, ok?) But, it's a GeForce4. And I run SL fine, thank you.

And the software points it out every time I launch the program now, since .70. It says my AGP might be set up wrong but, if I happen to be ignorant enough to actually own a PCI card, I can ignore this message.

The problem is that the message doesn't give me the option the tell it to STOP REMINDING ME. I assume that was an oversight, since the dialog does actually consider that this warning might not apply to me any longer. A "do not display again" checkbox would be an appropriate addition to this helpful dialog window.

Should my observation be in another category? Or can someone see that this gets on the list of future fixes?

feature suggestions. would be great if SL were able to detect whether your card was PCI or AGP, and possibly even disabled the AGP option in the prefs if you had a PCI card

I put in the PCI check in the last minute into the build because we've been having so many people crashing/running poorly because of misconfigured AGP drivers causing nVidia cards to run in PCI mode. I'm pretty sure we've already added the "don't remind me again" checkbox, I think it's going out in the next patch.

I'm pretty sure that we correctly autodetect if a graphics card is PCI and behave properly in that case, but to be honest, we don't actually have any PCI graphics cards in the office! If it doesn't, let me know.
