I can't seem to get SL to run on this laptop. Everytime it gets to "Precaching..." it always gives the same popup window (different memory addresses):
-----------------------------------------------------------
The instruction at "0x77f581bd" referenced memory at "0xff7b8eab". The memory could not be "written".

Click on OK to terminate the program
-----------------------------------------------------------

I've tried updating to the newest service pack, installing the newest video drivers, turning off all options I could in SL preferences, etc. Its always the same result. I'm guessing that the problem is that it only has 16MB memory on an S3 Twister adapter. If so, shouldn't SL give a warning or something instead of just blindly crashing? Here is information on the machine that is doing this:

Xylor, S3 cards are unsupported :P
Plus even if they were you would be hard pressed to run SL on that :O
Even if it worked the world would be horribly blurred due to the 16 meg texture memory. Might be easier to just rip your eyes out with a spoon.

I didn't really expect it to work with an S3. My issue was with it not giving an error message, just crashing. Seems like it wouldn't be too hard to check for supported video hardware beforehand =P
