I've tried to download the new release, and had the download time out on me twice, before completing on the third try and then failing to mount. I run a very new, very fast Mac Pro, and this sort of thing doesn't happen often. Is anyone else having similar trouble?

not often, it could be your isp connection .. try reseting your modem and router (if you have one) then try again fresh
