I've been running SL on my laptop for the past 6-7 months now, same settings, same hardware, same everything pretty much.
Just today, I logged in after about a week of not playing SL, and now I'm getting a graphical bug. The sculpty prims, instead of loading the way they were made, are turning into big spiked prims all over my own clothes and the environment around me.
System specs don't need to be give, as I said, its been the same for over 7 months and I've been non-bugged until just today.
I am running an ATI Radeon X1250 (don't say its low...its been working) and know that SL and ATI have a shaky stability with one another.
Has anyone else gotten this recently that knows a solution?

Do you mean they're 3d shapes that happen to be spiky, or do they seem to be turning into randomly placed triangles?
In the latter case, I've seen that happen a couple of times... shortly before my video card died.

Um, I would say they're more of the triangle thing...but I'm gonna be pissed if my video card is about to die. I run my laptop on balanced, it doesn't even get warm, and its under a year old.
I played Warcraft 3 and Counter Strike 1.6 today, and Diablo II and Mabinogi yesterday, and everything on them were working fine and smooth.
Edit: But yea, I'm not sure exactly what they are. I have an anthro avatar and the hand and foot paws all become cluster triangular shapes in about the middle of the hand/foot. I tried to rez a rifle as well that had a decent number of prims, and the ones of that were also a spiky triangular shape. Plus this also happened with my armor suit when I wore it, especially on the helm, mechanical wings, and fist weapon/shield where there are a larger number of sculpties.
I honestly think the issue it with the sculpties itself, because everything else looks completely fine.

There's been various solutions for this bug (turn of palletized textures, turn off vertex buffer objects, ...) let's see... read this page: http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-3258
