Why don't you send a bug report?

I'd uninstall again, scan for viruses, check the registry for anything left behind. defrag, scan for bad sectors.. you know the normal routine.
I'm thinking registry, but that's just a hunch.

Ryen-
A couple of thoughts:
1. Make sure you have your latest graphics card drivers. When updating those drivers, you should always uninstall through the Add/Remove Programs tool in your Windows Control Panel. Then install the latest download from your graphics card manufacturer unless it's a laptop in which case you usually need to get your graphics card drivers from them.
2. Make sure your motherboard's drivers, especially the AGP driver are up to date. You can almost always download the latest mobo drivers from the manufacturer, however, like the graphics card, if it's a laptop, check the laptop manufacturer.
A final note, when upgrading motherboard drivers, if you are unfamiliar wiht this task, I strongly suggest you get the assitance fo someone who's done this sort of thing before as an error here can do really awful things to your computer.

You and WizGamer LeFay seem to be afraid of emailing the Lindens. I've done it before, and I promise they don't bite

Just reinstall you PC you DON'T have to format your hard drive to do this (as some people think). Then latest drivers for all you hardware, then install SL and you're good to go. I know it's not cool to reinstall windows, but I wouldn't give it more then 2 seconds thought if I had the same problem as you! GOTTA PLAY SECOND LIFE!!!!!

I now get the newview error. I noticed this time there are some graphical problems too so I took a screenshot of the error. The error box that is shown in this screen shot must be clicked twice before the program shuts down and I get the reproter on reboot.
What I did: Just before it started: Installed latest 1.1 ontop of old 1.1 and played around in 1.1 for a little. Logged out and tried to log into 1.0.11 and got the error.
After (in hopes to fix): Restarted. Uninstalled 1.0.11. Uninstalled 1.1. Ran norton WinDoctor (registry checker) and fixed all errors. Rebooted computer. Emptied temp directories and made sure all SL was gone (find on secondlife returned nothing in windows). Emptied trash. Ran Norton WinDoctor again. Rebooted. Downloaded 1.0.11 and installed it. Still got the same error. Took a screen shot and posted here.
PS - I can still log into 1.1, just not 1.0.11

I did the complete uninstall again of both SL and SL Preview did my Norton Windoctor then loaded up regedit (its in your windows directory) and did a seach on secondlife. I got a few folders for the preview still there so I deleted those. Then I rebooted. And then I installed SL again, only this time instead of setting all my settings before logging in (like resolution etc) I just logged in with the defaults and BAM! I was in. Woot! Maybe that will help someone else get in?
