I don't quite understand the question. Could you elaborate?

Easy...
Download Second Life, Copy the Second Life Setup Shortcut from the Desktop onto a USB Mass Storage Device, put that USB Mass Storage Device into the other PC and Paste the Setup Shortcut onto that PC's Desktop, Double click and Install. So on for all of the other PC's.

If you have a Network, you can put it into Shared Documents, or force it onto everyone's Desktop.

We got 150 computers that we would need to have second life installed on.
Is there a simpler way to do so instead of installing individually ?
Same goes for when updates are release

Is it a School or Company? Do you have a Network?

Meghan pretty much summed it up. For the updates, the user will be prompted to install the update upon login. There shouldn't be a need for a Second Life network update, unless it comes down to limited OS user privileges.

If you're a Schoold, College or any Educational Cause. And you're going to be using this for Educational Means, I suggest you join the Second Life Educators Mailing List, http://lists.secondlife.com/

If it's a uni, it probably has it's own server for storage and such. If this is true, install SL onto that server, and make it's location available to the student user accounts.

Then they should be able to use a shortcut to start it from the server and play fine.

SHOULD.

I haven't tested this, but it really should work, it's what schools do with programs like Plato (A learning tool), and often with operating systems to keep them secure.

If it's a University the yes you should have a server/network, get Admin to Install it onto that, and then place a Shortcut to Second Life onto each Students Desktop, or plop it into Student Shares and make sure they can play it, this way they can play Second Life.

The students got no shared network drive... the app would have to be deployed to all machines. keep in mind any student can log into these computers.

If the university is running 'some' kind of network, and with 150 computers, should be, then you don't necessarily need a network share drive. Just as long as the SL client is installed on a machine that admin normally has access to, they can keep the client up-to-date and share that specific executable file out to the rest of the network. If using Windows, you create a shortcut from the SL client into the C:\Documents and Settings\All Users directory, or whichever drive you decide, which will automatically create the shortcut for all users.

This will save you the time and hassle of deploying the SL client to each and every computer.
