Sl eating up Cpu usage |

Second Life keeps at around 80% cpu usage on my amd atholon 64 x2 3800+ set to 2.2 gig and iuts annoying sence i cant do anything else with it running. ive got both the video and audio shut off on it so voice aint running and neaither is medi so i dont know why its eating up so much cpu usage constantly. my system specs are a nvidia 7600 gs 512 mb ram is 1.75gig os is windows xp pro sp3 32bit

SL on some computer systems just uses a lot of the CPU.....up to 100%. I really don't know why that is exactly, but I'm sure it's in the setup of the system. I've had four computers that I've used SL on and one I've been associated with (a friends computer) and only one showed that "problem"..........an old Pentium D 1.5 gig. It regularly ran 100% when SL was running. The other four, including this computer, run about 25% CPU usage with SL.
I tend to run my operating systems with very little "extras" or add ons. Lean and clean if you will. ![]() 80% is not really that bad........most people with excessive CPU usage report near 100%. |

lol i have no bloatware sence the copy of windows i got was clean of anything it didnt even have sp2 or sp3 on it so i know thats not a problem

Also - have you tried to yupdate drivers for the CPU?

that driver isnt there it just showsa everything blank on my end and ive installed it before so i know ive got it
