$L Linden Refund?

I recently paid $L100000 for an in-game business that infact isn't what i thought it would be. Is there any way i can get that money back from a linden lab employee. I'm sure the skins i bought are actually stolen also, so what could i do.

linden labs does not get involved in "disputes between residents".

they will, however, happily administer permanent bans on everyone involved in a business with stolen content, even the one who is reporting it.

Wow, you paid someone that much L$ without thoroughly checking things out first? How about we meet up in RL and you give me a few hundred US$ for....... um........ some deal that I'll come up with by then.

What is that? About $400 USD? And you gave that willingly to someone you did not know? You actually purchased (or somehow obtained) $L100,000 with the intent to purchase what amounts to a "get rich quick" scheme.......without reading the ToS to see what your recourses are for gaining your purchase price back should you be dissatisfied!!

What if i found out the original skin makers name as i'm almost 100% sure they were stolen. Couldn't they be sued and i get my money back?

You might. But how much is it going to cost for your lawyer? How much is it going to cost to get a court order or subpena to obtain the transaction history from LL?

I actually wish someone would finally go to a court of law and sue someone for things such as this.........but that would require someone willing to loose money in the process. Until then, the old adage of "if it looks too good to be true, it is". Common sense prevents crimes like this from happening.

You most likely bought from a throw away alt account, the money will be long gone, and they account more than likely abandoned.

The chance that you will ever be able to find out who was using the account who sold you the business is very low, and even if you do manage to find out, what are you going to do then? Sue them? What if they live in another Country? What if they deny it all and you have to have a long drawn out court case?

I know it sucks to lose, but there is very little chance you will get your money back, and if you pursue it, a good chance you will lose even more.

I guess I miss read this as i thought you bought the items from a Linden.
Why would a Linden return money you willingly gave to someone? As the old saying goes " buyer beware"
