cant log in/out for 2 weeks

ok, first off, it's insane trying to send in an issue ticket, and so this is gonna have to do it.

so like 2 weeks ago, i was playing SL no big deal, same as normal then BAM! crashed.
no biggie, right?
WRONG.
so ever since, every time I try to log in it says i cant yet, and to wait, t as begun log out process, THEN IT NEVER LOGS OUT, i have been trying to re-log in for weeks, I even made a new character and when i go to wherei was before i crashed, I am still there, standing, in-game, i can im myself, my friends can im me, they say I'm online on the friends list, and that i never log off.
I still can't log in, and I'm still standing there.

Not an expert here...

The only thing I can think of is contacting the sim owner and see if they can request a restart. That would force a log-off.

I ghost quite often, ironically when I'm sim hopping ghost "hunting"! - and usually have been having to go to Second Life Support to submit a ticket to get my ghost presence cleared.

However, this week, I was out for a good 16 hours, getting that message "account unavailable until blah blah Pacific Time" and I thought "oh oh" ghosted again! And I had a bash at unsticking myself.

Please try this. It can't do any harm.

Bring up a log in screen, but don't insert your log in details. Instead, go to the top of the log in screen, click on edit, go into preferences. In the General tab, select last location... then go down to the Web tab and click on the "clear now" button next to browser cache. Then close the log in screen and do something else for 20 minutes. Then try to log in as normal on the ghosted account.

There is no guarantee this will work, but as I say, this worked for me earlier in the week. I've had LL tell me of other ways in the past when I've ghosted, but they have not worked, and it is more often the case that only a region restart will actually clear a ghost presence when the avatar cannot log in at all.

Please let us know here in the forums how you got on. On a personal level, I'm very interested in this ghosting situation. Its not a new thing, by any means, but just lately me and a bunch of other ex-ghosted avatars have been finding more ghosts than before, which probably is indicative of the general instability of the grid currently.
