I've had this problem since getting this controller and I'm hoping there's some way around it.

You know when you are in SL, you see your Avatar from behind and above. then use the scroll wheel to move in and out.

With the 3D space navigator (as you know if you have one) you have the side button which puts you into a free flying viewpoint seperate from your avatar, which is great when you are building things (walls etc) as you move your viewpoint freely around and zoom in/out from thing to fine adjust them

this all works perfect, but most of the time, when I press the space navigators button again to get my "behind avatar viewpoint" back, it's not quite the same position as it should be by default.

Sometimes it seems ok, othertimes (especially if I have done it a few times during a built) the viewpoint looks very different. still behind, but the height and distance behind the avatar has changed.

the only way I have found to re-set the camera position is to log off and reboot.

Anyone know either a way to stop it happening and your viewpoint always returing to the exact default loctaion after using the space navigator, or perhaps some way to re-set the values later.

Anyone else find this?

You can reset view by hitting the escape key on your keyboard

Thanks, will try that later.

There does seem to be some odd things that happen here.

Last night at one time, everytime i quickly pressed the space navigaotrs side button it jumped to a closer view (zoomed in) one step.

But after logging out and back in, pressing the button did not do this at all.
