I am having problems with SL appearing to 'flood' on my client. I have attached a snapshot to show what i mean.

I can go to edit -> preferences and click OK without changing *anything* and temporarily the flooding goes away. Within a few seconds, however, it returns.

Anyone know if there is something I can change to fix this?

Here's a snapshot from the same spot without the flooding.

BTW, see the grayed out bears in the background? Any way to get those to come in clearly without having to move closer?

I have no idea what causes the 'flooding' effect, but I've seen it as well. It doesn't happen to me terribly often, but it has happened. I'm using a Sapphire Radeon 9800SE, if that makes any difference.

Increasing your draw distance may make the bears visible, but will almost certainly make your framerate drop a lot unless your PC and video card are really powerful.

hit ctrl-alt-shift-6, I believe. That turns off the fog. It used to work wonderfully before 1.2, but it's give and take since then.

Works pretty well most of the time.
