SL's virtual televisions don't play Flash-based videos

I was given a FreeView TV. It plays some videos but not the Flash variety, which is a real bummer because Flash is the format of YouTube vids.

When I play a URL like this, I get a blank screen and no audio:

http://www.youtube.com/v/9AL7npkSXZE&hl=en&fs=1&

(The URL works fine in Windows Media Player.)

On someone else's television, I watched a video (presumably the same format) - it played fine at times, but for long stretches the video froze and the audio went silent.

Any suggestions?

There are some scripted TV things in SL that will try to figure out the MPEG link for YouTube videos and show them in world. Google likes to change the link format from time to time in an effort to discourage this, so a given YouTube-capable TV may or may not be working.

Freeview is a very old set of scripts, so it doesn't have the YouTube stuff in it.

SL does not currently have in-world Flash support but that will be changing very soon, development viewers were recently released with a new API so that plugins can be developed for future official versions.
