Media Player issues

When using the current Release Candidate viewer I have problems with the music media player in-world. It will play for a few seconds then cut out again. Switching the music player off and on sometimes works, but I have to do that multiple times over several minutes for it to work. Then when the music comes back on it lasts no more than 5-10 seconds before cutting out again.

This problem doesn't seem to happen when I go back to the older client (current main one).

Well today, without me changing a thing, it's started happening on the main viewer as well. I've been advised to clear cache, which I have done three times, and still I can only hear music in 5-10 second bursts.

I know its not the stream because other people there are having no issues.

Since its only me having issues it must be something I'm doing wrong here, but what?

EDIT: I have also re-booted my computer, and the router, with no success.

I am having the same issue as well. I have lowered my maximum bandwidth all the way down to 50 and it still does it. Tried all the above steps as well to no positive effect. Any help greatly appreciated!!

Possible fix...

Hey Russ,

A friend of mine helped me out this morning and my problem does appear to be fixed. No more "skipping" music streams!! Try this: Edit>Preferences>Graphics>tick the box for Custom. Next, make sure all SHADERS are checked and UN-CHECK Hardware Skinning under Avatar Rendering. (The only things I didn't have checked were Atmospheric Shaders and Water Reflection, and of course, un-checked the Hardware Skinning). I hope that this helps!! If it does not.. I am at a loss for you. Just remember to hit the APPLY button and you should be in business!! Best of luck to you!!

Additional Info...I also changed my Maximum Bandwidth to 250. ;-)
