Local chat is lagging like group chats used to?
Group chat is giving errors?
Physics rubber-bands in EMPTY sims?
Movies, audio, sound like crap?

What is going on?

The rubber banding makes me think you may need to reboot your router and modem.

im using the same machine i was in 2005 with SL and it runs just fine

so its something local
